ORIENTALIST ENSEMBLE

For my final year honours project at university I looked into the influence that 'orientalism' had on the construction of early 20th century women's clothing, culminating in the creation of an outfit which adhered to these principles. The garments were designed by draping cloth on a half-scale mannequin and were cut entirely along straight lines with manipulation of the fabric the only means used to create ornamentation and fit.
